Well friends, 2018 is here, and there are lots of big changes ahead!
I’ve been pretty quiet on the blog for the sole reason that this year was completely overwhelming. My business had grown to the point where I couldn’t keep up with tasks like blogging or scheduling social media posts because I was having a hard time balancing the need to serve my clients well, be present with my fiance and with my family, and keeping up with the demands of a full-time job.
So, I wanted to catch you up on a couple big changes that happened over the last year and share a little bit of what’s ahead!
1. I’m getting married!!!!
On September 22 this year, I will be marrying my best friend and the love of my life at Brookside Gardens, one of my absolute favorite locations. Richy and I are working with some INCREDIBLE vendors including Ann of Anny Photography, Adrienne of Hearts Content Events, and Kelly of Anchored in Love, among many others! Here are a few favorites from our engagement session. Thank you so much, Ann, for capturing these beautiful images. They are true treasures to us!
2. I have a new full time job!
In October I left a job I loved for an opportunity to work at a small local business—a doggy training spa called DogiZone. I am doing marketing there and am so excited about the many opportunities I have had to grow both personally and professionally. I have a total bleeding heart for dogs and being able to serve dogs and their owners has been such a blessing. This business is going no where but up, so it’s amazing to be a part of it!
Now, for what’s ahead
1. I have a TON of sessions to share with you!
This year I had the opportunity to work with some amazing clients—both new and old!—photographing weddings, newborns, and family portraits. This year was such a time of growth for me as a business person between all of the shooting I did and the education I invested in. I didn’t take time off last winter, but this year I’m being very strict with myself and not scheduling anything until March so that I can focus on building a stronger foundation for my business that will allow me to better serve my amazing clients and leave room for me to work on other projects that have been floating around in my head all year. Here are just a few sneak peeks!
2. I’ll be starting a wedding planning series on the blog!
I’m by no means an expert on wedding planning, which is why we hired Adrienne so that she could use her amazing talent to plan a beautiful day for us. There’s a lot that still goes in to planning a wedding that I have some inside knowledge on having been involved in the industry the last couple years. I’m excited to share a little about our wedding planning process and hopefully provide some resources for other brides!
Comment below and tell me what your big plans are for 2018! I can’t wait to cheer you on as you work towards achieving all your goals for the new year.
